The Covenant Chambers Equity & Trusts Moot Competition 2026

We are proud to present The Covenant Chambers Equity & Trusts Moot Competition 2026, organised in collaboration with the NUS Law Mooting and Debating Club (MDC).

We warmly invite all LLB and JD students from NUS, SMU, and SUSS who have completed at least one year of law school to participate! (Singaporeans and PRs studying law in some foreign universities are also eligible; refer to the Rules of the Competition for details.)

Whether you’re an experienced mooter or first-timer, this moot is designed to hone the advocacy skills of our future lawyers. At the same time, this is a great opportunity to experience mooting with friends and interact with law students from other universities.

The competition is not merely a test of knowledge — it is a battle of wits, a symphony of persuasive advocacy, and a forge where future masters of equity are shaped.

Equity follows the law, but great advocates shape its course.

The challenge awaits. The bench is set. Will you answer the call?

A primer on equity and trusts and briefing on the moot format

Semi Finals

Top 12 participants will be selected from the submitted written memorials and scheduled to make oral submissions on one of the following days:
Day 1
10 September 2025 (Thursday)
4 pm - 7 pm
Wee Chong Jin Moot Court, NUS
Day 2
11 September 2025 (Friday)
4 pm - 7 pm
Yale-NUS Hall (WC-01-02), NUS
Grand Finals

Top 4 participants will compete for the top prize before a panel of 3 judges
18 September 2025 (Friday)
5 pm - 7:30 pm
Followed by a buffet dinner reception
Wee Chong Jin Moot Court, NUS

Registration

Registration opens from 12 August 2026 (Wednesday) at 6 pm.

We’ll inform you whether you are acting for the Claimant or Respondent within 48 hours of receiving your registration via the linked form below.

Registration closes on 23 August 2026 (Sunday) at 11:59 pm.
