Covenant Chambers is pleased to announce the appointment of Khelvin Xu as Director, effective February 2nd, 2024. Khelvin joins the firm after leaving Rajah & Tann Singapore as Partner. He comes with a formidable reputation in commercial litigation, and is particularly adept at navigating complex and cross-border disputes, especially those involving technology elements.

Khelvin possesses extensive experience before the Singapore Courts, and in international and domestic arbitration, having honed his skills across numerous multifaceted cross-border matters. His deep understanding of commercial disputes, coupled with his proven talent for strategic guidance, promises to be invaluable to Covenant Chambers' clients.

Representative matters include acting in a multi-million dollar international arbitration for a cryptocurrency platform against a cryptocurrency trading desk, linked to the cryptocurrency crash of June 2022, acting in a multi-million dollar international arbitration for a Japanese corporation listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange against a Hong Kong entity (represented by an English Queen's Counsel / Hong Kong Senior Counsel), in respect of the distribution of consumer products in Mainland China, and acting in a High Court claim for a Singaporean company of over 50 years' history, in resisting a winding-up application brought by a group of minority shareholders.

He is also authors the "Legal Profession" chapter yearly in the Singapore Academy of Law's Annual Review of Singapore Cases.
